choisoomin image (4)The evening will be opened by pianist Choi Soo-min, who specialises in composing piano-pop pieces. His upbeat and melodic tunes will create the perfect atmosphere for the night. Choi Soo-min was originally booked to perform at London Camden town in 2012, but due to contract issues had to pull out last minute. We hope Choi Soo-min will enjoy his performance in London and we’re glad we’ll finally get a chance to see this suave pianist in action!

Park Jung-min, the main act of the night, is a member of the boyband SS501. Although SS501’s contract with DSP Entertainment ended in 2010, all members continue to state that they have not disbanded despite being under different entertainment companies. When SS501’s contract expired all the members decided to pursue solo careers and with Kim Hyun-jung having gained more popularity for his role in the hit drama Boys Over Flowers, it is likely that his solo career has somewhat outshined his fellow members.

However, Park Jung-min made an impact with his first solo single Not Alone in 2011, quickly followed by his first mini album The, Park Jung Min later on in the year. Unfortunately soon after releasing his mini album, Park Jung-min filed an injunction against his agency, CNr Media, citing improper distribution of profits. Although in a lawsuit against his agency, Jung-min still attended all the schedules set by CNr Media for the sake of his fans in Korea.

2012 must have been a busy and difficult year for Park Jung-min, with the lawsuit over in Korea he went to Japan and created the alter ego ROMEO so he was able to release Japanese singles Give Me Your Heart  and Tonight’s The Night. He then returned to Korea towards the end of the year to release his first self-produced single album Beautiful, and then back to Japan again for his first full length Japanese album Midnight Theatre as ROMEO. From then Jung-min has been travelling back and forth between Japan and Korea for concerts and performances switching between Park Jung-min and ROMEO for his Light/Dark, Good/Bad concepts.

But now all the madness has hopefully ended and we’re lucky enough to have Park Jung-min embarking on his first European Tour beginning just next month! SS501 fans are a dedicated bunch who go by the name of Triple S love Park Jung-min very much and we can see why. Park Jung-min is a hilarious character, how would one begin to describe Park Jung-min, one phrase we found on the internet was: “You don’t know self-centrism until you know Jung Min” – Park Jung-min will no doubt keep his European fans fully entertained and laughing hysterically! We can’t wait to see him in London! We just pray he can handle the jet lag well and no one will need to wake him up in the morning…
