Stylist Live 2015
A four-day festival of culture, catwalks, cocktails and conversation hosted by Edith Bowman and Dawn O’Porter on Thursday 15 – Sunday 18 October 2015
Yeonmi Park – Sunday 18 October 2015
14:30 – 15:30, Culture Lounge
Human rights activist and North Korean defector Yeonmi Park shares her harrowing story at Stylist Live with the aim to “shed light on the darkest place in the world”. Just two weeks after the release of her memoir In Order To Live: A North Korean Girl’s Journey to Freedom this is an incredible opportunity to hear from the 21-year-old who is determined to raise awareness of the plight of her country’s people.
This is a 4 day event and you need to purchase a ticket for the specific day you want to attend. Ticket price starts at £25 which gives you access to the event including the Culture Lounge where Yeonmi Park will be talking on Sunday. Link to tickets here.
Yeonmi was born in North Korea and at 13 years old she escaped to China in hopes of improving her life. But her journey to freedom has been far from the fairytale happy ending we all pray for.
You may recognise Yeonmi from a YouTube video that took the world by storm in 2014 where she delivered a speech about her escape from North Korea. Since then Yeonmi has published a book about her shocking journey and also reveals some of the most intimate details of the secretive state she was raised in.
This is a rare opportunity to meet Yeonmi Park and hear her speak about her experiences in person. And make sure you pick up a copy of Stylist Magazine today as there is a special feature on Yeonmi Park where you can read a snippet about her life from North Korea defector to human rights activist.
